I would absolutely LOVE to quilt for you. I can’t wait to see what you’ve made… and just so you know, it is going to be stunning when it’s done!

I am not All About the Baste (anyone else hear Meghan Trainor singing? 😀). Basting? Nah, handing it to me is so much easier on your back... and fingers! I’ll hand it back to you ready for binding… but I can do that too if you want.

A quilt is an investment. You invested your time, your hands, your heart and your mind and you should finish it with a quality quilting service to keep it whole for years to come.

I quilt on an Avante 18” longarm machine with Pro-Stitcher. Handi Quilter is one of the largest quilting machine manufacturers out there and the machines are made right here in the United States.

With a bunch of E2E designs (Edge to Edge means the pattern will be uniform over the whole quilt) to choose from, we can find something that will bring your quilt to life. If we can’t find something in my library – I know where we can look 😀

Thread

I use Glide threads and have a few color options available.   If I don't have the perfect color available, I would be happy to add it to my collection… it just may take a little while longer to complete your quilt.  There is no charge for thread.

Batting

$10/yard - I currently carry Hobbs Heirloom Premium 80/20 Cotton/Poly Blend batting, 96"

You are more than welcome to provide/send your own quality batting.

Binding

0.07/inch – I attach your prepped binding to the front of the quilt

0.15/inch – I will make your binding and attach to the front of the quilt. You provide the fabric.

0.30/inch – Want me to send you a finished quilt? I will prep the binding with the fabric you send, attach it to the front of the quilt and hand stitch to the back.

Taxes

Pennsylvania requires that I collect 6% sales tax for goods, services and shipping if you live in PA. If I ship it to you outside of PA, there will only be sales tax on the service portion of the invoice.

Quilt Prep for Long Arm Services

Top

  • Quilt top should be pressed, threads trimmed on front and back. Those threads seem to become EXTREMELY visible once your top is quilted.
  • If your quilt top (and backing) are directional, identify the top of your quilt and top of the backing fabric with a pin or safety pin and note attached.
  • No need to wash your quilt top before sending it. This may open seams and creates a lot of extra threads that will need to be clipped.
  • If your quilt top does not have an outside border, we highly recommend that you stay stitch or “do a victory lap” less than ¼” away from the edge around the entire edge of your quilt top. This stitching will be hidden once your binding is attached to the quilt.

Backing

  • Your backing fabric must be 3 inches larger on all sides. If your quilt is 70x80 your backing should be 76x86.

Shipping

  • If you are shipping your quilt, you are responsible for shipping to and from LongArmQuilter.net. I am located in Mountain Top, PA.
  • Place your quilt top and backing in a plastic bag. Weather, as we know, is unpredictable and we would like your quilt top to remain unmarked by any unforeseen moisture.
  • When folding your quilt top for shipping, fold it with the seams on the inside. Please fold the quilt top and backing separately.
  • I recommend that you ship your quilt via USPS or UPS. Either will arrive within 2-3 days of you shipping it to me.
  • When I ship your quilt back to you, I will provide a quote from USPS and UPS prior to sending your final invoice so you can choose your shipping method.
  • With either method of chosen shipping, please let me know if you would prefer your package insured. $50 of insurance is included. Any higher amount will cost a dollar to a few extra.
  • For protection against THEFT, do not label QUILT anywhere on the outside of the box.
  • If you are LOCAL to the Wilkes Barre/Hazelton/Scranton, Pennsylvania area and don’t want to mail your quilt, we can work together for local drop off and pick up.
